ONE OF MY SADDEST DAYS OF MY LIFE

I am so devastated that International Champion D-Shiva’s Lacota Warpaint is dead.

I cannot believe that such a kind, gentle and loving Stud boy, who lived in my bedroom and slept with me at night, he was so wonderful and finally I thought I had filled the great void in my life after losing my wonderful Grand Champion Sharue Sun Prince over 4 years ago.

Before no one could ever take my Sunny’s place, sadly for me Lacota did.

Lacota came into my life only 2 months ago.

I am so relieved that I did not let him mix with my cats, and he was isolated in my bedroom with me, he was my bedmate and my lover, now he is gone.

I had noticed he was losing weight, had him checked by my vet, and tests were negative for all including, FeLV and FIV, however his condition worsened and I noticed his breathing was becoming laboured so again returned him to my vet for more tests.

Whilst awaiting the results my man was struggling and I am still shocked that he is gone now, the diagnosis was Thymic Lymphsarcoma, also a small lesion on his liver.

Thymic Lymphasarcoma is a tumour, which generally affects young cats up to two years of age. The tumour grows in the thymus, an organ in the chest in front of the heart. As it grows, it causes fluid to accumulate, which gradually fills the chest, pressing on the lungs and causing the cat difficulty in breathing. Often the difficulty in breathing is sudden in onset: in cats difficulty breathing is manifest by the cat showing rapid breathing or breathing through the mouth. The tumour can usually be seen on X-ray. Over 90% of cats with Thymic Lymphasarcoma are FeLV positive.

Tests were negative for all including, FeLV and FIV

I am at present awaiting the rest of the Post Mortem results,
which I hope to have after Easter.

GOD BLESS HIM, HE WAS TOO GOOD FOR THIS ROTTEN WORLD, he is now with his maker and my wonderful Sun Prince, one day I will be with them both again, in the meantime I pray this does not happen to anyone else, life is so unfair……

My darling Lacota

I cannot believe you have left me, you tried so hard to hold on, you did not want to let go, we both tried so hard to fight and survive, my darling, you were my man, my bedmate who loved and cuddled into me at night, you were so special to me and I to you

You did not want to leave me, nor I you, the vet said your day’s were numbered, but we struggled on regardless my darling boy, only when we both knew, did I allow them to take your life, I could not see you suffer my baby, I am so distraught, so destroyed and so lost without you.

Only you took the place of my wonderful Sun Prince who I loved and have missed for so many years, how unfair was it for you to find me and me to find you,
God Bless you
.

I can NEVER replace Sunny, and I can not EVER replace you my dear four legged friend, our love was too short, bit it is forever.

GOD BLESS YOU MY LITTLE FRIEND, WE WILL ALL MEET AGAIN.

With all my love and so much sadness,

From a cold and empty bed - Sylvia x
